The City of Carrollton’s recently redesigned website cityofcarrollton.com was presented with a Silver Circle Award from the national City-Council Communications and Marketing Association (3CMA). The City’s website received the Silver Circle Award, equivalent to second place, in the Digital Interactive Website category (pop. 75,000-177,000).
This website redesign project involved a complete rebuilding of the site, led by the City’s Marketing Services and IT staff in conjunction with Vision Internet, providers of a new content management system (CMS). Some of the website’s features include a newly designed look with drop-down menus, better search functionality and greater ease of use for both content providers and visitors to the site. More than 60 departmental web specialists have been trained and now use the CMS on a regular basis to update content and photos on their respective pages, in addition to their regular job duties. Marketing Services Director Sheri Chadwick said, “This has truly been a team effort and an outstanding achievement for the City of Carrollton.”
