Help Turn the Page Through CPL's Citizen Feedback Survey

Library Survey - IGTo continue providing excellent services for current and future patrons, the Carrollton Public Library has opened a community survey.

The survey is anonymous and open to everyone through Wednesday, July 1. The survey should take approximately five minutes to complete, with an option to provide comments and suggestions.

“The Library relies on citizen feedback to ensure it is providing for the needs and wants of the community,” Rachel Young, Carrollton Public Library Interim Director, said. “The survey helps gauge public awareness and interest for the varied services and amenities offered and is one of the ways residents can help the City continue to progress toward its vision of being the community that families and businesses want to call home.”

The survey’s results will help the Library allocate budgets and plan for future collections, services, events, educational programs, and entertainment offerings that patrons will enjoy.

The Library conducted its last community survey in 2024. The results of that survey helped staff make changes and add new services based on residents' feedback. One of the largest changes was the launch of a new online catalog system software in 2025. The new catalog added many user-friendly features patrons were looking for, including improved browsing experience, more language options, and the ability to link family accounts. Over the last two years, in response to community feedback, the Library has also expanded its Korean-language collection, upgraded the self-serve printing stations, launched mobile/remote printing, begun providing tookits for checkout, initiated a year-long reading challenge for adult patrons called Read 365, installed 24/7 holds pickup lockers, and more.

“The Library is really looking forward to the responses from this year’s survey in the hopes that we’re meeting patrons’ needs while also receiving more ideas from the community,” Young said. “The Carrollton Public Library is a place for residents to gather, learn, and discover. It only makes sense to shape future plans around what the community has to say.”  

Young said this is a chance to tell the Library which resources are most utilized and what services would be good to add, maintain, or discontinue. There’s a universe of information to explore and the Library can help source it.

To access the survey, visit cityofcarrollton.com/librarysurvey or stop by either Library location to fill out a paper copy. The survey is available in English, Korean, or Spanish.
