The Carrollton City Council appointed members Daisy Palomo and Jason Carpenter as Mayor Pro Tem and Deputy Mayor Pro Tem, respectively, during the Tuesday, June 23 meeting. The appointments will go into effect on Wednesday, July 1.

Palomo was elected to Place 6 in 2023, has been serving as Deputy Mayor Pro Tem since May 2025, and was reelected in May. She will complete her Council term in 2029.

Carpenter was elected to Place 2 in 2023 and reelected in May. He will also complete his Council term in 2029.

As Mayor Pro Tem, Palomo will fill in for mayoral responsibilities if Mayor Steve Babick is ever unavailable to do so. As Deputy Mayor Pro Tem, Carpenter will be able to fill in if neither Babick nor Palomo are available. Both pro tem positions are appointed by the City Council from among the current City Councilmembers and will remain in effect until the next City Council elections in May 2027.
