Minor Home Repair (2)

Receive up to $7,500 in Exterior Repairs

The Neighborhood Empowerment Zone Minor Home Repair Program (NEZ MHRP) is funded by City General Funds. NEZ MHRP provides assistance to low-income homeowners to make City code violation repairs when the owner-occupant lacks sufficient resources of their own. Through this program, qualified homeowners can get assistance with repairs up to $7,500.

Eligible Repairs
  • Code Enforcement violations
  • Minor exterior repairs (siding, fascia, trim)
  • Exterior painting
  • Accessibility modifications
  • Emergency plumbing or electrical repairs
  • Roof repair/replacement (Must file insurance claim if covered; MHRP assists only if uninsured or deductible is over $1,500)
Ineligible Projects
  • Structural repairs (e.g., foundation)
  • Cosmetic repairs (e.g., repainting a home a new color)
  • Tree removal
Program Limitations
  • All projects must be done on dwelling unit.
  • Assistance is not for rental homes.
  • Assistance is not a remodeling service or intended to prepare home for sale.

Note: Repairs can only be made to items that are not functional, meaning that items. Only the parts of systems that are broken will be repaired.  An entire system will not be replaced unless a City approved contractor determines replacement of the entire unit is reasonably necessary and will prevent future repairs. Items that are old and outdated are not eligible for replacement.
