In alignment with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) revisions to the Lead and Copper Rule (LCR), the City has taken proactive steps to protect public health by ensuring safe and clean drinking water for all residents. The revised rule, which emphasizes the identification and replacement of lead service lines, requires all water systems to create an inventory of water service lines and prioritize the removal of lead-based lines.
The City’s comprehensive water service line inventory was compiled to identify and document all water service lines within our system. This inventory serves as a critical tool to meet regulatory compliance, enhance transparency, and assist in the systematic replacement of service lines where applicable.
As part of our commitment to ensuring transparency and accessibility, we have developed a Water Service Line Map. This interactive map allows residents to view the materials of water service lines and determine if any lead-based lines are present. To read the map, users can simply search by address, and the map will display the service line material associated with each property. If a property is marked as “unknown,” further investigation is required, and residents may be contacted for assistance in identifying the line material or they can complete a brief survey to update the material of a water service line by clicking here.
