Born and raised in the heart of Madrid, Spain, Susana Gómez sees the world as her canvas and creativity as her compass. Her artistic roots are grounded in her education at IADE Design School, where she mastered Fashion Design, and later delved deep into Graphic, Artistic, and Digital Design at the prestigious ESDIP School of Art. These studies laid the foundation for her business Misugo.Studio, a space where her two greatest loves—art and fashion—intertwine to create handcrafted, one-of-a-kind pieces. In 2023, Susana embarked with her luggage full of brushes, needles, and dreams on a new adventure across continents and brought her creative energy to Dallas, Texas.

With more than ten years of experience in an array of techniques and mediums, her creations elevate live events, especially weddings, transforming them into cherished memories painted in vivid strokes of emotion and life. From designing the enchanting book cover and illustrations for De Madrid al Cielo to gracing the pages of fashion and art magazines, her art never fails to captivate. Her talent has also earned her a spot in global platform Fida’s Top 100 Contemporary Fashion Portraits 2025, with two of her portraits taking 17th and 18th place. Kaicee Black lives in Carrollton and has worked for the City's Environmental Services department for more than 3 years. She was a part of the Sustainability Team that put together the City of Carrollton's first Sustainability Plan. Protecting the environment and promoting conservation are important to her, and she knew this contest would be a great way to educate and bring awareness to stormwater and the health and safety of the community's waterways.

Savannah Chun, a junior at The Hockaday School, and Grace Kim, an eighth grader at Trinity Christian Academy, lead the Korean American Youth Artists of Texas (KAYAT), a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing traditional and modern Korean art forms. Under KAYAT, they enjoy learning various artistic pursuits, such as traditional ink painting, performing Janggu drums, and K-pop dances. After collaborating to conceptualize the design, they are delighted their work was selected and are excited to see it displayed in the community. With the help of their KAYAT team, they painted and put the final touches on the storm drain. Savannah, Grace, and the KAYAT members are very grateful for this opportunity to contribute to Carrollton’s community and hope to continue engaging with the city's initiatives in the future. 

Mother-daughter duo Kammie and Etta Powell returned for the second year of the Storm Drain Art Contest to continue pursuing their love of art and Downtown Carrollton. Etta also invited a fellow Rosemeade Elementary friend, Frankie Sharp, to help on painting day. The girls have perfected their bubble painting skills this year, which was the inspiration for the bubble and wave design in the storm drain art. Kammie, Etta, and Frankie are all very proud to be part of the Carrollton art community.

Bree is a multidisciplinary artist based in Carrollton, Texas, where she’s lived for 14 years. Working in mixed media, oil, and murals, her art invites viewers to imagine a more vibrant, hopeful future—most recently through a series of female astronauts in haute couture spacesuits. In addition to her art practice, she works as a software designer for a Los Angeles-based tech startup and spends her free time with her husband, daughter, and their dog, Rosie.

Bree’s murals can be found throughout the DFW area, including Denton, McKinney, and Deep Ellum. Her work has been featured in Create! Magazine, I Like Your Work, PIKCHUR Magazine, and Dallas Style & Design, and she was recently shortlisted for the 2024 Women United Art Prize in Painting and Drawing.
