Current Watering Status
No Mandatory Drought Restrictions
Carrollton is not under mandatory drought restrictions.
Lawn Maintenance Rules
- From April 1-October 31, there is no watering between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
- No watering is allowed during precipitation events (rain and snow).
- Irrigation systems must be kept in good repair to prevent water waste.
- Water runoff in excess of 50 feet from your property is prohibited.
Carrollton purchases water from Dallas Water Utilities (DWU). Because water demand increases during warmer months, the City follows seasonal watering strategies and conservation measures to help manage supply and protect the water system.
Outdoor Watering Schedule
During the warmer months, from April 1 through October 31, outdoor watering is encouraged no more than two days per week to help reduce peak water demand.
Required watering rule:
- Automatic irrigation systems may not operate between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
