Carrollton Fire Rescue utilizes the American Heart Association’s CPR training curriculum, and has established the Emergency Medical Education Training Center to deliver courses. 

Our goal is to make CPR training available and affordable to all businesses and residents of not only Carrollton but all of the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Listed below is information regarding the different types of CPR classes that are offered.

• Hands Only CPR & AED Teaches CPR and relief of choking for adults, children, and infants. Participants will also learn to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). This class takes approximately 90 minutes and includes hands-on training.  Participants will receive a Carrollton Fire Rescue CPR & AED course completion card.

• First Aid Teaches one how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Course content includes general principles, medical emergencies, and injury emergencies. This class takes 30-45 minutes to complete and is most often taught as an extension to Hands Only CPR & AED.  

• Stop the Bleed Teaches how to recognize and differentiate life-threatening traumatic bleeding emergencies.  Participants will learn how to administer rapid first aid techniques to save lives from traumatic bleeding through hands-on training.  This course takes 15-20 minutes to complete and is most often taught as an extension to Hands Only CPR & AED.  

• American Heart Association Heartsaver & BLS In-Person Courses/Renewals & Skills Sessions for AHA HeartCode Blended Learning
  For those in a professional setting that require AHA or similar course completion requirement, please contact us to schedule an AHA Heartsaver or BLS in-person course or renewal.  Must have 6 people minimum for in-person course or renewal.  CFR can also provide Skills Sessions (in groups or on an individual basis) for the HeartCode blended learning format of both the BLS and Heartsaver courses.
