Collective Daily Borrow Limit Reached Error
The collective daily borrow limit set by your library has been reached and will reset at midnight. Please browse and add titles to favorites so you can easily access them after midnight.
Reason
Although hoopla is free for patrons to use, the Library must pay for each item borrowed out of the yearly budget set for hoopla.
A daily budget limit is also in place to allow borrowing every day each month and still ensure the Library has enough resources to last for the entire year.
What to Do
Borrow the title after the daily limit resets at midnight. Adding the title to favorites makes it easy to find the next day.
Met Monthly Lending Limit Error
You have met your monthly lending limit of 4 titles. Please continue to browse and add to your favorites. See you next month.
Reason
Carrollton's hoopla budget allows you to check out four (4) titles a month. The number of checkouts resets on the first of every month.
Returning a title does not increase your borrow limit for the current month. Your borrow limit is a cumulative total for the month, and not a total you can have borrowed at any given time.
Your title is available for a set number of days regardless of when during the month your title has been borrowed.
What to Do
Wait until the first of next month to borrow the title.

What to Do
Log in to your account to pay fees online or visit either Library to pay them.
Search everywhere for billed items before paying. Once replacement costs are paid, no refunds are issued, even if you find the items and want to return them.

Your card may have expired or have $10 or more owed since you first registered and logged in to the hoopla app or website.
What to Do
Log in to your account and:
- Go to "Your Library Card" section to check the expiration date under your barcode
- Go to "Fines" section to check if you owe $10 or more

Owe Too Much Money?
You can pay fees online or visit either Library to pay them.
Search everywhere for billed items before paying. Once replacement costs are paid, no refunds are issued, even if you find the items and want to return them.
2nd Possible Reason
You are trying to use a juvenile card to borrow:
- R-rated movie
- TVMA or higher rated TV content
- M or higher rated comic/graphic novel/manga
- Parental Advisory rated music
What to Do
Make sure you are using an adult card to borrow these kinds of item.
Tip: You can use Kids Mode to help your child find curated and family-friendly items for kids up to 12 which includes movies rated from G to PG.
3rd Possible Reason
You may not be viewing Carrollton's hoopla Collection.
The Library has a catalog of items available for customers as part of our hoopla contract to ensure budgetary sustainability. This means not everything on the hoopla website or in the hoopla app (if you chose EXPLORE HOOPLA!) is available to Carrollton customers.
You may also see the error message below for this same reason:
This title is currently blocked by your library. Please continue to browse and borrow another title.

Log in to your hoopla account in the app or on the hoopla website to see the items available for Carrollton Public Library cardholders.
