Beat the heat by relaxing with a cool book and earn prizes along the way!
We encourage children age 5 and under to participate in our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program. Research has shown that this year-long program has tremendous benefit to your young child.
Registration & Logging
Dates
- May 1: First day to register or join the challenge
- June 1: First day to log reading
- August 1: Last day to log reading
Where to Register and Log
You only have to register once, then you reuse the same login information to join each new challenge.
Register, join a challenge, and log on the Beanstack website or using the app on your Apple or Android device. Links are below.

Tips for tracking reading in the Beanstack app:
- Scan the UPC barcode on the back of a book to quickly add a title. -- How-to Instructions
- Use the reading timer to track how long you read a title. You can pause or reset the timer and edit the minutes captured if needed. -- How-to Instructions

Finale
Celebrate the success of your summer reading by participating in our End of Summer Reading Party at Rosemeade Rainforest Aquatic Complex from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026!
All Summer Reading participants who log reading will receive an Invitation via Beanstack. A bookmark invitation will also be your first log prize.
