The TexShare Card Program re-opened on a voluntary basis on August 15, 2020. The Carrollton Public Library started issuing TexShare cards again starting Monday, August 24.

Not all libraries are able to participate fully in the program as of August 15, and there is no requirement that they do so.

Call the library where you would like to use your TexShare card issued by the Carrollton Public Library to borrow items to see if they are open and participating.

Contact your hometown library to check if they are participating in the TexShare card program if you are NOT a resident of Carrollton or a Reciprocal Partner and want to use a TexShare card to get a Carrollton Public Library card with limited borrowing rights.

TexShare is a consortium of Texas libraries joining together to share print and electronic materials, purchase online resources, and combine staff expertise.

TexShare services are available to patrons of participating member libraries all across Texas, regardless of institution type, size, or location. The consortium is administered by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.

TexShare Card Program

The Card Program is a reciprocal borrowing program which allows registered users of participating TexShare libraries to obtain a TexShare card and use the card to borrow materials directly from other participating libraries.

You must obtain a TexShare card from your home institution before going to other libraries. Special lending policies may apply at lending libraries.

TexShare Card Lending Policies have been removed from the TSLAC Find-A-Library service and are not being updated on the TSLAC website until January 2021 at the soonest.

Contact the Library where you want to use your TexShare card to see if they are open and participating and to ask about their lending policy
