MHAC generally meets in January, March, May, July, September, and November at 6:00 p.m. on the 2nd Wednesday at Crosby Recreation Center, 1610 E. Crosby Rd. All meetings are open to the public, and MHAC always welcomes any interested visitors.

Museum & Historic Advisory Committee (MHAC)
The Museum & Historic Advisory Committee consists of 9 members appointed by City Council. The Committee advises and makes recommendations to City Council regarding the preservation and protection of the City's architecturally and/or culturally significant resources for future generations. The Planning Department provides staff support to this committee.

Projects & Initiatives
- Historic Research Survey
- Historic Resource Survey was completed for the purpose of establishing a "living" document that will be updated and added to as new information becomes available.
- Unveiling of Boatwright House Designation Marker
- The Boatwright House, also known as the Vintage House or the Pink House, was officially recognized as the oldest standing structure in the City with a historical designation marker.
- Historical Designation Cleanup
- Comprehensive restoration efforts were undertaken, which included cleaning the markers, repainting those with deteriorating finishes, realigning markers, and bronzing older ones to ensure longevity and preservation.

Historical Designation Process - Parks and Recreation Ordinance (Ch. 133, sec. 21 of the City Code of Ordinance)
- 2025 Updates: Approved by City Council (May 20)
On May 6, 2003, City Council approved the Carrollton Heights Historic District zoning ordinance, which provides for development regulations different than other residential districts.
