The North Central Texas Regional Police Academy (RPA) offers comprehensive training for individuals starting their law enforcement careers in Texas. This program prepares future officers with in-depth instruction on legal concepts, police procedures, investigative techniques, and critical technical skills needed for effective service.
Graduates earn a certificate of completion, which qualifies them to take the peace officer licensing exam, an essential step in becoming a licensed law enforcement officer.
Classes are held at 624 Six Flags Drive, Suite 125, Arlington, Texas, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening sessions for specialized topics such as DWI enforcement, firearms training, and practical exercises. The Basic Peace Officer Course, consisting of 880 hours of rigorous instruction, is scheduled six to eight times annually to accommodate the demand for high-quality law enforcement education.
