Monthly bills may be paid by mail, in person or after hours at City Hall or by bank draft.

Place trash carts, recycling carts and other bulk waste in designated collection area (alley or curb).

• Place your blue recycling cart and green roll-out container at your designated alley or street collection site.
• Place bundled brush and bulk waste at the front curb.

Do not block or impede a street or alley right-of way, water or gas meter, drainage ditch, or sight triangle at an intersection or sidewalk. Improperly placed or blocked waste will not be collected.

• According to City Ordinance, residential waste shall be placed at the location designated by the City no earlier than 6 p.m. of the evening before and no later than 6:30 a.m. of the collection day. 
• Containers must be removed from curbside no later than 9 a.m. the day following collection.
• Residents who do not remove containers after collection are violating City Ordinances.

Items too large to fit into the green roll-out container are considered BULK WASTE. Bulk waste must be site generated.

Place these bulk items at the front curb at least 3 feet from:

• Other containers
• Mailboxes
• Gas meters
• Fences
• Parked cars
• Overhead obstacles
• And any other items

Items including leaves or grass clippings may be placed in plastic or paper bags or in boxes but each bag or box should not weigh more than 50 pounds.

• Brush (tree trimmings, limbs and branches) and bulk waste (items too large for green roll-out containers) will be collected weekly on customers' regular collection day.
• All limbs should be cut into 4-foot lengths and placed in bundles not exceeding 40 pounds to fit in a rear-end loader truck.
• Up to 3 cu yd of bulk and 3 cu yd of brush (including yard waste bags) can be placed out for weekly collection

Appliances aka “White Goods” are considered bulk waste and should be placed at the front curb. This includes items such as:

• Freezers
• Refrigerators
• Water coolers
• Dehumidifiers
• Air conditioners

Any appliances containing refrigerants must be tagged certifying that all CFCs, chlorofluorocarbons, have been removed by a certified refrigerant technician prior to their placement for collection.

The City residential waste collection agreement and pricing does not include common areas maintained by homeowner associations (HOAs) or neighborhood associations (NOAs). 

For these areas, waste and brush collection should be contracted with a commercial waste hauler or removed and disposed by a landscaping company.

Additionally, waste material must not be placed where arterial street traffic is obstructed for collection access.

Place any of the following items in your blue recycling cart:

• aluminum and steel/tin cans (no foil or aluminum pans) 
• glass bottles and jars of any color (rinse containers and discard lids) 
• plastics #1 through #7 
• boxboard (such as cereal and cracker boxes) 
• newspaper (do not bundle separately or place in plastic bags) 
• magazines, catalogs and junk mail 
• paper bags 
• phone books 
• office and school paper 
• cardboard 

Recyclables are collected from your blue cart every other week on the same collection day as your trash.

• To determine your recycling collection schedule, first locate your neighborhood on the Carrollton map and note the blue or yellow color.
• Recyclables will be collected on your regular trash day on the color-coded weeks shown on the Recycling Calendar.

• Up to 3 cu yd of brush (tree limbs, branches, bags of leaves or grass clippings) can be placed at the front curb for weekly collection.
• All limbs should be cut into 4-foot lengths and placed in bundles not exceeding 40 pounds.
• Up to 3 cu yd of bulk (household items too large to fit in the roll cart).
• Bagged household garbage must fit in the roll cart. Bags of garbage placed at the curb, left on top of, or beside the container will not be collected.

If you have more garbage than fits into a green roll-out container, you can request an additional container (charges apply) by filling out a bin request form or calling 972-466-4950.  Additional blue recycling carts can be requested for no extra charge. 

• Missed collections can often be due to items being set out too late on the collection day or placed improperly, including too close to other objects or blocked by things such as a parked vehicle.

Yes. You may take a pickup load or small trailer load (up to 6 cubic yards) to the Camelot Landfill located at 580 Huffines Blvd, Lewisville, TX 75056 once a month on Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to Noon for a charge of $18/load paid at the gate.

You will need to show your utility bill and drivers license as proof of residency for this discounted rate.

This service is available for residential, not commercial, customers.

Dried paint (including paint that has been dried using an agent such as cat litter) is allowed in regular trash. 

Recycling

Never bag or bundle your recyclables in the blue recycling cart. Items should be placed in the container loose. Learn more about what can and can be recycled. 

Yard/Brush/Bulk Waste 

Items including leaves or grass clippings may be placed in plastic or paper bags for collection and placed at least 3 feet away from your green trash cart, blue recycling cart, brush, mailboxes, gas meters, fences, parked cars, overhead obstacles and any other items.

Each bag should not weigh more than 50 pounds.
