I spent 2 years stateside; St. Paul Minnesota(Fort Snelling), Camp Wallace, Texas (basic training), Camp Tyson, Texas (Weatherman School)/Post Weatherman Exchange). Two years overseas; sailed with 65 ships to England, France and Belgian. The water was very rough and lot of the men got very sick. We landed in London and got ready for the invasion. Our function was to keep the barrage balloons (shaped like zeppelins) up high so that the Germans could not attack our planes but we could attack their air-crafts. I was discharged from the Army, October 25, 1945. I went to college and received my BA and MS degrees. I taught in the elementary schools and pat=time principal (Chicago and North Carolina). I also did a lot of other jobs until I retired.
